In spite of Global Pandemic, Students Excel

The Marialla V Magloire Foundation Scholarship in the Arts and Sciences marked its sixth year awarding two outstanding Leon High School Seniors each with $500 scholarships for their exemplarily performance both in the classroom and in their community. Due to the COVID -19 Pandemic there was no in-person awards ceremony, however this does not detract from the accomplishments of these dedicated students.

Ms. Lamiya Dix is an active student leader in her school and church, participating in several activities including the 4-H Youth Development Program and the Farm Share initiative where she helped to package food items for community service projects.

Mr. Sean Kaven is a seasoned entertainer with many talents including playing the bass, acting and singing. He was a member of the Leon Chorus, the International Thespian Society and maintained a competitive GPA while also working at a local fast food restaurant.

Both students not only exceled in their studies, but also made it a priority to give back to their communities. We are very proud of our 2021 Marialla V Magloire Foundation Scholarship Awardees!
